In all seriousness though, the difference last night was D-Fish. He may not make the list of top PG's in the NBA year-in/year-out, but he has what a lot of other elite PG's don't have--multiple NBA titles that he wasn't just "around" for...he's contributed heavily in just about every finals he's played in for the Lakers. You have to start including him in the top 10 or so PG's in the NBA based solely on that fact, especially after last night's 4th quarter performance. Not only his 4th quarter, but he guarded Ray Allen the majority of the night last night, and basically shut him down. That was huge, you can't overstate that enough.

Rondo did shoot 50% from the field, but like I said I bet 85-90% of those are from 5 feet in basically. 21% isn't even his career low for 3 pt % in a season. He has no range what so ever. That is why LA is using Bryant or Fisher or whoever to play zone at the top of the key. It cuts down on Rondo's driving and shuts down passing lanes to the insdie from the top of the key.

Rondo was also a 61% FT shooter. So basically he is a PG with a slightly better FT% than Shaq.

Towards the end of Game 2, Paul Pierce was helping a teammate up off the floor and he told that player (and said it loud enough for mics to pick it up) "We aren't coming back to L.A.".

I'm hoping Pierce is right!!!! :mooning:

He's a solid mid-range shooter, sorry, but he is. Not giving the guy credit, he'll continue to earn it though. A big reason for a low 3 pt % is the situation he's in when he shoots them, he hardly takes them, but when he does...they're usually forced, shot-clock running down shots. I've been critical of Rondo before, with the rebounding and such, his game is getting too much like Kidds...too much potential to play like that. He's never going to be a Nash-esque shooter, we're talking one of the best shooters of all time, but it will continue to improve/extend.

Allen had a terrible night, credit to the D somewhat, but he could not make anything at all. And terrible play calling giving him that shot in the corner, yeah he's Ray Allen and shooters keep shooting, but KG had a great night and Peirce was hitting his 3's at least...I didn't like that. When Fisher got that and-1, it was over and the celtics didn't deserve to win that game after that...such **** poor laziness from 3 Celtics down there, that's embarrassing and that one play did it for me.

He is not a solid midrange shooter. He isn't even a good foul shooter. His game is getting layups and put backs off of hustle rebounds. Don't you think if he was a good 3 pt shooter he would take more when he has open looks, which is basically all the time because no one in their right man plays him tight outside the foul line? Yes he will hit a few jumpers, but 1 out of 5 is worth the risk in the NBA. Rondo is becoming a very good point guard as a distributor and slasher, and he is a great trapping defensive player and a sucker D defender as I call them. He plays guys on the ball like I do in pickup games. Let them go by and hope to deflect the ball as they go around to make the steal.

I think my comprehension was pretty spot on: you said he was a 50% 3pt shooter--using that to enhance your claim he's one of the "best shooters of all time" (???), Stripes actually went and looked it up and and he's a 21% 3pt shooter via the factual numbers.

Pretty pwned to me. It'd go over a lot better if you just laughed it off and owned the mistake.

It's real easy to peg you man. Rondo's a great player in lots of eyes, but the hyperbole hits a new high w/you b/c he's playing against the Lakers. For someone who claims to know a lot about basketball, esp. the NBA, you're whiffing hard on the Rondo thing b/c most of his shots ARE around the bucket. He's a driver that scores at the bucket, not some sharpshooter in the Mark Price category as you claim (if you even know who Mark Price is).

Because like Kidd, Rondo is a terrible shooter!

Jason Kidd is a career 40.3% shooter with a high of 44.4% one season and a low of 36.6%. He's a career 34.9% 3-point shooter, shooting as low as 29.7% one season.

to get away from this shooting argument, what about rhondos defense, that was impressive, in game two he did just a good a job as the elite shut down defenders on kobe, i mean no one stops kobe but he did the job of being a pest, at a very elite level i thought

What the hell are you talking about? I said 50 FROM THE FIELD, not from the 3 point line. Look at what you quoted me on, read it really close. Now I'm assuming you know what the difference is, so go look that up or look where stripes said he DOES shoot 50 from the field. You quote it without reading it, even when it's pointed out to you. I never said anything about 50 from the arc, I said 50 FG%, which is a factual number...go look it up. And when did I ever claim he was close to "best shooters of all time", I said that about Nash, which is more facts for you. I've only said he was a solid mid-range shooter, which I still think he is.

Use your own advice, you're pwning yourself.

Guess that's why I've criticized him mostly. You're just making more **** up now, no one ever said he was some sharp-shooter or anything close, I said he was a solid mid-range shooter...you've miserably attempted to twist everything to try and claim I said this and that, when the quotes are right there and you still can't read them correctly.

Kidd can be very solid too, 40+ from the field is always solid. He can absolutely suck it up sometimes, but shoot your lights out other times. The shooting wasn't what I was talking about, it's the mentality. Kidd thinks pass as option 1, 2 and 3 and can be wide open and still think pass when he can knock down the shot. I don't like that Rondo is turning into that, he has potential to be a great playmaker, not just a passer like Kidd. Plus the rebounding as a PG is exactly like Kidd, Kidd as made a living at it, but I've never been a fan of a PG trying to rebound constantly.
